Suggestion to create “planning board” to avoid crises in northeast Syria

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, an official of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), said it is necessary to create “the Planning Board” to avoid economic crises.

The AANES Executive Council is consisted of 11 boards, specialized in economic, administrative, social sectors, and the last created one was the Agriculture and Irrigation Board.

Hana Somi, member of the AANES General Council, said the main success of the administration and its institutions is to establish a board charged with long range planning, statics and major development plans.

“If a country wanted to be successful, there should be a Planning Board, and the responsible for such board should be qualified and experienced,” Somi told North Press.

The existence of such board avoids the economic and livelihood crises which the area is suffering from occasionally and only the residents are effected.

“If these researches are executed by the Planning Board and other boards, the AANES will be rich, and the economy will be better than that of Germany, the US or any western country,” Somi added.

On December 27, the co-chair of Economic Board, Salman Barudo, said the AANES seeks to build integrated economic sector and become self-reliant in 2022.

“The agricultural sources are present and the AANES have to get benefit of them and establish an economic sector allows the maximum and optimal use of all the resources in the region,” he added.
