Asayish disclose toll of counter-terrorism operations in NE Syria in 2021
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) revealed the number of counter-terrorism operations conducted in 2021.
Counter-terrorism forces, in participation with the US-led Global Coalition Forces, stormed 147 hideouts of terrorism sleeper cells across northeast Syria, the Asayish General Command said in a statement.
Accordingly, eight wanted individuals were killed in the clashes and further 469 were arrested.
Five members of counter-terrorism forces were wounded, too, the statement said.
267 illegal arms, 400 magazines, 25,761 bullets, 85 shells, 96 hand grenade and 13 suicide belts, all were seized.
Besides five night vision and day binoculars, 451 mobile phones, 22 laptops, 32 external hard drives, 20 USBs and 10 cameras were also seized.
Moreover, the Asayish forces seized 196,000 captagon pills, 290 Hashish, 10 different kinds of vehicles and 11 motorcycles.
The statement stressed the Asayish will continue chase extremist groups to achieve peace and stability in the region.
