A person shot dead in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

Deir ez-Zor, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, residents of a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, found the body of a person who had been shot months ago, according to medical examinations.

Ashraf al-Rakkad, the brother of the killed, in the town of al-Ashara, 50 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said the residents found the body of the 42-year-old youth, Eid al-Rakkad, buried in an orchard near his house in the Khaled bin al-Walid neighborhood in the center of the town, with bullet wounds on his body.   

Al-Rakkad told North Press that his brother was had been missed for nearly six months and nothing was known about him, only to be found by residents on Friday morning buried in the orchard of his house, with several gunshot wounds on his body. 

He pointed out that the family of the victim is outside the house and has been residing in Beirut for nearly a year. 

According to the forensic doctor, the death incident occurred more than five months ago.  

Al-Riyadh confirmed that his brother was a civilian and did not belong to any political or military faction. 

Recently, kidnappings and killings, which are often for personal or clan issues, have increased in Deir ez-Zor countryside.
