More than 60 Turkish shells fell on Syria’s Raqqa countryside, SDF
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said Thursday that Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions bombed the countryside of Ain Issa town, north of Raqqa, northern Syria, with more than 60 shells.
“Since this morning, the Turkish occupation has intensified its bombardment on the villages of al-Fatsa and al-Safawiyah in the eastern countryside of Ain Issa, as well as the vicinity of the town center,” the SDF said on its official website.
“More than 60 artillery shells fell on the mentioned villages, as well as the M4 Highway since 9 am,” it added.
“The Turkish bombing caused material damage to civilian possessions and farms, amid a state of panic that prevailed among the residents, who were force stop their work,” the SDF added.
Yesterday, the Turkish forces bombed the village of Zenobiya in the western countryside of Tel Abyad. The bombs caused a power outage to the village and the surrounding villages thus, according to the SDF.
Since Turkey and its affiliated factions took control of the areas of Tel Abyad and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in 2019, areas in the northern countryside of Raqqa and north of Hasakah have been subjected to repeated Turkish bombardment.
