IDF, “we destroyed immeasurable amount of strategic weaponry in Latakia port”

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), Aviv Kohavi, said yesterday, the latest Israeli strike that targeted the port of Lattakia destroyed an immeasurable amount of advanced and strategic weaponry.

Israel’s continued war-between-wars campaign has led to a decrease in Iran smuggling weapons into Syria, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kohavi said, according to Jerusalem Post.

“The increase in the scope of operations over the past year has led to a significant disruption of all smuggling routes into various arenas by our enemies,” he told Jerusalem Post.

Dozens of targets were attacked in war-between-wars camping on the Syrian front, in addition to thwarting one infiltration attempt from Syrian territory into Israel, the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraee, twitted.

Early on Tuesday , Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike targeting the Syrian coast in Latakia, the port has been targeted twice this month as the first strike was on December 7.

SANA, Syria’s state-run news agency quoted a military source as saying “A wave of missiles from the depth of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, targeted the container yard at the commercial port in Latakia.” 

“The new Israeli airstrike caused the outbreak of fires in the scene and significant material damages, Work is underway to put out the fires and assess the results of the aggression,” SANA added.
