US forces patrol in village in Syria’s Hasakah shelled by Turkey
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, An American patrol passed through the village of Dardara, which was hit by Turkish bombardment yesterday evening, in the countryside of Tel Tamr town, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
The patrol, which was accompanied by two American helicopters, consisted of four armored vehicles and passed through the village.
For the second time over the last week, American forces have conducted a patrol in the village of Dardara, which is located on the contact line, 2 km north of the town of Tel Tamr.
Yesterday, the village of Dardara was shelled by the Turkish forces, which caused material damage to civilians’ possessions. Tension still hangs over the area, after the Turkish military escalation in the middle of last week, which resulted in casualties and material damage.
The American soldiers got off their military armored vehicles and met with some of the civilians remaining in the village, asking about their conditions in light of the frequent shelling.
Like most of the villages located on the frontlines, the frequent Turkish bombardment throughout the current year on the village of Dardara has caused the destruction of dozens of the houses in the village, and the majority of its residents have fled to the southern countryside of Tel-Tamr.
“The American forces asked about the situation in the village. Our situation is clearly visible. We are bombarded nearly every day. The last time shells fell on the village, was yesterday evening,” Ahmad Nawaf, a resident of the village, told North Press after meeting with American officers and soldiers.
“We demanded that the bombing stop over our heads, as many of the village’s houses have been flattened with ground due to the Turkish bombing,” he said.
It is noteworthy that the American forces began this morning, another patrol on the M4 Highway.
