Turkey supports terrorists, cuts off water to people in Hasakah: Mekdad
ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – The Turkish regime continues to support terrorist groups in Syria, Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Faisal Mekdad said on Thursday.
“Turkey has repeatedly cut off water to more than a million citizens in Hasakah,” Mekdad added during the meeting of the Syrian-Russian ministerial coordination committees on the return of the refugees.
“Syria will not surrender to those who conspired against it, and will continue to defend its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity,” he stressed.
Mekdad’s speech came after a day of negotiations that took place between the Syrian government and the opposition in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, in which Turkey plays the guarantor role alongside Russia and Iran.
Tehran is scheduled to host a summit with Moscow and Ankara in the next year to discuss the situation in Syria.
