Turkey’s practices worsen humanitarian situation: Syria’s representative to UN

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkey’s practices, crimes, and sponsorship of terrorist organizations are a major cause of complications related to the humanitarian situation in Syria, the Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Bassam Sabbagh said yesterday.

“Any objective evaluation of complications relevant to the humanitarian situation in Syria leads to one outcome that the main reason behind this situation is the Turkish occupation, its crimes and support to terrorist organizations,” SANA reported Sabbagh.

“Syria has exerted all possible efforts and offered the needed facilitations to the UN and its agencies to apply the authority related to resolution 2585,” he added.

Sabbagh demanded the closure of the “notorious” Rukban camp, as he described it, saying that it is with no aim but to increase the suffering of Syrian citizens and support terrorist organizations by the US occupation.

Syria’s representative affirmed that the achievement of stability in the country requires full elimination of terrorist organizations and ending the Turkish occupation.
