Member of government forces found killed in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, residents of a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, found the body of a member of the National Defense of the Syrian government forces.

It was found, through the medical autopsy, that he was killed about a month ago with a gunshot to the head.

The body of Ayman al-Khalil, 31, who belonged to the National Defense Forces (NDF), and went missing 40 days ago, was found by the locals buried in one of the town’s orchards, a military source of the government forces in the town of Hatla told North Press.

“The killed member was found buried in the orchard of one of his relatives, and he was a leader in the NDF in the city of al-Mayadin, east of Deir ez-Zor,” he added.

Al-Khalil came from the town of Khasham in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor and had lived with his family for years in the town of Hatla, according to the source.

The National Defense Forces (NDF) is a pro-government militia that was found in November 2012 after the eruption of the Syrian war.
