Russian-Turkish joint patrol conducted west of Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police (MP) conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the western countryside of northern Syria’s Kobani.
This is the 83rd patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in 2019.
The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set out from the village of Ashma, 20 kilometers west of Kobani.
It roamed the villages of Jarqli Fouqani, Jebnah and Bayada reaching to Zor Mghar, off Jarblus on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
Then, the patrol immediately returned to the starting point in Ashma passing the villages of Sosan, Qola, Qaqoui Tahtani, Binder, Meshko, Jebnah, and Jarqli Fouqani.
After that, the Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ashma village, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the town of Sirrin, south of Kobani.
On December 13, the Russian MP conducted 82nd joint patrol with the Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
