Washington supports intra-Kurdish talks in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The new US Deputy Special Envoy for Syria, Matthew Pearl, and his ancestor David Brownstein stressed that the US supports intra-Kurdish talks in Syria, the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) stated yesterday following a meeting with the US delegate.

During the meeting, the US envoy stressed that all disagreements between the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) and the Kurdish National Unity Parties (PYNK) should be solved.

In April 2020, a dialogue between ENKS and PYNK was launched by an invitation from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi to unify the political position of the Syrian Kurds.

Over years of the Syrian conflict, disagreements between the ENKS, under the umbrella of the opposition Syrian National Coalition and PYNK, led by the Democratic Union Party (PYD), continued.
