ISIS claims responsibility for attacking SDF in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State Organization (ISIS) claimed responsibility for attacking a checkpoint of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) between Diban town and Tayyana village, east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, with machineguns, yesterday.

ISIS announced, through close media outlets, the targeting of an SDF checkpoint with machineguns between Diban and Tayyana saying, “wounded were reported among SDF militants.”

The armed attackers were driving motorbikes and fired at the SDF checkpoint before fleeing without knowing the extent of losses, residents of Diban town told North Press.

Meanwhile, the SDF has not commented on the incident, so far.

Recently, the ISIS activities have increased against the SDF checkpoints and headquarters in addition to committing assassinations targeting employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal heads and civilians in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

On December 12, ISIS claimed, through its media outlets, the latest attack that targeted the military headquarters of the SDF in al-Busayrah town, east of Deir ez-Zor.
