SDF complies with de-escalation process for stability, Mazloum Abdi
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) complies with the international de-escalation process in Syria to guarantee stability in the region, the SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, said.
This came in a meeting of the SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi and the YPJ female Commander-in-Chief, Newroz Ahmad with both the Deir ez-Zor Military Council and Deir ez-Zor Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in al-Omar oil well two days ago.
Mazloum Abdi tackled the current situation, the challenges and the pressures that the areas in Syria’s north and east have witnessed and are still witnessing.
Abdi also discussed the pressures exerted by the Turkish state on the region trying to obtain a green light to carry out a new operation.
“The Turkish internal situation and the stances of the global powers regarding the Syrian issue do not allow Turkey to launch a military adventure,” he said.
“There is an international agreement regarding a de-escalation process in Syria, where the SDF is a part of and comply with the agreement to guarantee stability in the region,” he added.
Meanwhile, the meeting focused on the idea of intensifying operations against the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) and its sleeper cells within a new strategy of 2022.
Additionally, the meeting touched the attempts of the Syrian government to hit the stability and safety of the region which in turn contribute to the reactivation of ISIS sleeper cells and grow its danger.
The participants stressed the importance of “intensifying the operations of fighting smuggling on the banks of the Euphrates River and along the border.”
The meeting stressed that “The Asayish have to work actively to guarantee peace and safety of the people of the region and to work to secure the needs of their forces to increase their readiness.”
The SDF General Command listened to the Deir ez-Zor Military Council and the priorities that should be on their agenda for the next year to protect the region against any external threat or attack.
