George Clooney turned down millions of dollars for performing Turkish airline AD
WASHINGTON, USA (North Press) – The Armenian National Committee of America (anca), one of the most important Armenian lobby organizations, revealed that the American star, George Clooney, refused to sign a one-day contract Ad for $35 million with the Turkish airlines.
On its website, the anca directed a thank-you note to George Clooney confirming that 49% of the airlines company is owned by “Erdogan’s toxic regime,” as it described it.
“Well, yeah. I was offered $35m for one day’s work for an airline commercial, but I talked to Amal [Clooney, the human rights lawyer he married in 2014] about it and we decided it’s not worth I,” he said in an interview with The Guardian.
It is associated with “a country that, although it’s an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought: ‘Well, if it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it,” Clooney noted.
The statements of the Hollywood star that did not disclose the name of the airlines company led foreign media outlet to carry out investigations regarding the name of the company, whose tempting offer Clooney rejected.
The source of the $35 million offer was not known until the anca published a thank-you note to Clooney, and the Armenian lobby organizations are known to have strong relations with Hollywood stars.
