Four Syrian soldiers injured: Russian Reconciliation Center

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Four soldiers of the Syrian government forces were wounded by snipers in the governorates of Idlib, Latakia and Aleppo, the Russian Reconciliation Center announced yesterday.

“Snipers affiliated with terrorist groups from Fatterah area in the city of Idlib shot Syrian government forces positions in the vicinity of Milja area wounding two Syrian soldiers,” Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria Rear Admiral Vadim Kolet stated.

“Other terrorist snipers wounded one Syrian soldier in Kafr Halab village in Aleppo governorate,” he said.

“A sniper affiliated with terrorist groups in Qaramanly (al-Hayat) area in Latakia northern countryside sniped Syrian government forces positions injuring one Syrian soldier,” Kolet added.

Eight assaults launched by the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS-formerly al-Nusra Front) were reported in the de-escalation zone in Idlib the day before, Kolet explained.

“The Russian Reconciliation Center call leaders of illegitimate armed groups to reject provocations and work to reach a peaceful settlement in the areas they control,” Kolet noted.

Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.
