Turkish forces shell villages in Syria’s Raqqa countryside

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions targeted the eastern countryside of Ain Issa and the M4 Highway, north of Raqqa, northern Syria, with dozens of shells.

The shelling targeted the villages of Misherfah, east of Ain Issa, Sayda and the silos of the town in addition to targeting the M4 Highway, military sources told North Press.

Dozens of shells fell on the villages that are few kilometers from the town of Ain Issa, local residents said.

Last week, a civilian was wounded during a shelling by the Turkish-backed factions in the western countryside of Tel Abyad, while Arida, Umm al-Huwaish, Sweida, Zenobia and Sawan villages in the western countryside of Tel Abyad were bombed with missiles.

The town of Ain Issa and the western villages of Tel Abyad city and others northern Syria are periodically subjected to continuous shelling by Turkish forces and the armed factions affiliated with them.
