ISIS suspect arrested in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
Deir ez-Zor, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the participation of the US-led Global Coalition, arrested a person accused of belonging to the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in a town east of Deir ez-Zor.
A military source of the SDF in the city of Hajin, 110 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said the forces arrested a former member of ISIS, through an airdrop, with the participation of Coalition.
The member refused to surrender, and the arrest took place in the al-Hassaniya neighborhood, western Hajin, after a four-hour pursuit, the source added.
The military source pointed out that the suspect returned from Turkey three months ago to carry out terrorist operations for the benefit of ISIS.
On November 23, the SDF Special Units arrested a man who sent fund to ISIS in al-Busayrah town, east of Deir ez-Zor.
Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing cases of kidnapping and assassination of members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal dignitaries and civilians for unknown reasons. The Islamic State organization (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for most of these cases.
