Unknown attackers kill two people in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, two people were shot dead in the eastern countryside of Daraa, south Syria, by unknown individuals.

This occurred in light of the increasing assassinations and security chaos the governorate is witnessing following the settlement processes by the Syrian government and Russia that finished early in November.

Unknown individuals interrupted Akram Fayez al-Zo’bi in the town of al-Maliha Sharqiya and shot him directly, local sources told North Press.

Al-Zo’bi was transferred to the National Hospital in the town of al-Hirak, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the same sources.

Meanwhile, the town of al-Sora, in the western countryside of Daraa, witnessed the killing of Thamer Abdulhamid al-Hariri.

Unknown individuals shot al-Hariri directly and he was transferred to the National Hospital in al-Hirak where he died later, a close source of al-Hariri told North Press.

Eyewitnesses of the city of Nawa, in the countryside of Daraa, said residents of the city found the bodies of two Syrian government soldiers near a roundabout in the center of Nawa.

The two soldiers were members of the government’s Division 9 and they were transferred to Sanamayn Military Center, local sources noted.

Three government members of the military intelligence service were killed as a result of an IED explosion while passing on the route runs from the town of Nawa to the town of al-Shaykh Sa’ad, in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

In response, the government forces shelled residential neighborhoods with heavy artillery killing three civilians and wounding nine others.
