Three women killed in water tanker accident in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, three women were killed and a man was injured by a water tanker accident in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

A water tank belonging to CARE Organization collided with one of the tents in the Second Sector, which has Iraqi refugees, as a result of a technical malfunction, which led to the death of three women and the amputation of a man’s leg.

In a separate incident today, Monday, a fire broke out in one of the tents in the Fifth Sector for the displaced Syrians. The fire spread and burnt down a number of neighboring tents, without recording any casualties.

A source said that investigations are underway regarding the two incidents today.

The incidents that frequently take place in Hawl Camp are added to the murders, which recorded a frightening number, as the number has reached about 90 cases of murder with silencers since the beginning of this year.

Two days ago, Hawl Camp witnessed the killing of two Iraqis within 24 hours by gunshots to the head.

The Hawl Camp houses about 15,650 families of which 8,049 Iraqi families, 5,153 Syrian families, 2,448 families in total of 8,245 individuals of women and children of detainees, militants, and dead of foreign ISIS.

Hawl Camp is known as a “ticking time bomb” due to the presence of extremists of ISIS wives and children, and tens of thousands of their supporters in a camp sometimes described as “the most dangerous camp in the world.”
