Government shelling leaves casualties in south Syria’s Daraa countryside

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, three people were killed and more others were wounded in artillery shelling by Syrian government forces on the town of Nawa in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria. 

The government forces, stationed in the Regiment 175 on the outskirts of the town of Izra’ in the eastern countryside of Daraa, shelled the residential neighborhoods of Nawa, North Press reported sources from the town. 

As a result of the shelling, three people were killed and nine others were wounded, the sources added.

According to the sources, 5 people have been arrested so far in the campaign of arrests launched by the government forces for wanted residents from the town.

It is reported that this is the first time that Nawa is bombed after completing settlement operations in Daraa governorate in early November.
