ISIS attack kills Peshmerga members in

IRBIL, KRG (North Press) – Five members of Peshmerga forces were killed and four wounded in an attack by the Islamic State organization (ISIS) yesterday, in Karmiyan area, south of Sulaymaniyah city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. 

The attack was followed by an IED blast.

Peshmerga is the Kurdish branch of the Iraqi Armed Forces.

“A security site affiliated with the Peshmerga Fifth Brigade was attacked by ISIS killing five Peshmerga members while confronting ISIS,” a sources told North Press.

A Peshmerga vehicle driving to the scene was targeted with an IED causing extra casualties, according to the same source.  

The source reported no further information nor the losses among ISIS fighters.
