Four civilians including children lost lives in mine explosion in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Four civilians, including two children, lost their lives in a mine explosion in the city of Manbij, north Syria, on Saturday.
A mine blew up in a car on the main road leading to al-Shuhada’ Roundabout in the southern side of the city of Manbij, North Press reported an eyewitness.
The two sisters, Reem al-Hanaifi, 32, and Nour al-Hanaifi, 30, in addition to the one-year-old child, Sufyan Sheikh Jasem, lost their lives of their injuries half an hour after arriving at the hospital, North Press reported a medical source at al-Hikma Hospital in Manbij.
The five-year-old child, Sa’id al-Hanaifi, lost his life immediately in the explosion, the medical source added.
While two injured people are kept under observation. Their health conditions cannot be decided unless the necessary medical tests are done, according to the medical source.
On November 12, a man lost his life in a mine explosion while plowing his land in the village of Qurt Weiran in the northwestern countryside of Manbij.
On June 26, three children lost their lives and two others were wounded in the explosion of a landmine left behind by the Islamic State organization (ISIS) near Tishrin Dam, 20 km southeast of Manbij.
On June 10, a member of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish), lost life and two other members and a civilian were injured, as a result of the explosion of a mine that was planted near al-Fateh Mosque in the western side of the city.
On March 2, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the same place near al-Fateh Mosque, injuring a civilian, who was taken to a hospital in Manbij.
