Three people arrested in Syria’s Turkish-occupied Afrin

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Turkish-backed Military Police faction arrested three residents of the village of Kafr Safra of Jinderis District, in the countryside of Afrin, north Aleppo.

The Military Police arrested each of Ahmad Hassan Hamed, Muhammad Hassan Hamed, and Almaz Haj Abdo accusing them of dealing with the Autonomous Administration in the past, a local source told North Press.

They were transferred to the headquarters of the Military Police in the center of the district and their fate is still unknown, according to the source.

Ahmad Hassan Hamed has previously been arrested two times by Samar Qand faction, which is operating in the area, aiming at demanding ransom to release him, the source pointed out.

The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.

The Afrin region has been witnessing cases of killing, kidnapping and arrest, in addition to frequent bombings, amid the inability of the factions controlling it to settle the security in the region.
