Europe witnesses mass protests over new COVID-19 restrictions
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Mass protests have been erupted in several European countries over the new implemented Covid-19 restrictions in light of new hikes in infections.
For three days in a row, tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark and Croatia to protest the partial lockdown imposed after high spike in coronavirus infections.
The protesters set fires create a mess in the places they gathered in. They carried banners reading “corona dictatorship” and “divided society”.
While the police used horses, dogs and batons to chase the crowds away. Officials announced emergency order in some cities.
During the protests, dozens have been arrested. Also, several people, whether of the people or the police officers, were wounded.
