$300 thousand allocated for projects in northeast Syria’s al-Shaddadi town in 2022
SHADDADI, Syria (North Press) – A budget of $300,000 has been allocated to implement projects in the town of al-Shaddadi in 2022, Amin Bilal, head of the technical department in al-Shaddadi municipality, south of Hasakah, said on Sunday.
The projects will be completed with the municipalities of Abadan, Markada, and Tel al-Shayer, according to Bilal.
Among the projects on the list: Paving the roads affected by the sewage project for this year, in addition to paving al-Kanya Road at the western entrance to the town, Bilal added.
He indicated that work will also be carried out on a 3 km sewage project in separate areas of the neighborhoods, replacing the main pipes with a length of 1,200 m, and laying several roads in villages with remnants of 7 km long.
The town of Abadan is located 20 km west of al-Shaddadi town, Markada sub-district 40 km to the south, and Tel al-Shayer town 40 km in the southeast.
Bilal pointed out that work will be done on laying several roads in the town of Abadan with a length of 8 km, rehabilitating the 47th roundabout, a 2,700-meter sewage project in Markada district, and constructing a bridge in the village of al-Fadghmi on Wadi Abu Hamdah.
The projects of the town of Tel al-Shayer were identified by improving the excavations spread along Tel al-Shayer-Shaddadi road with asphalted.
The official of the technical department in al-Shaddadi municipality said that the budget that has been allocated for the completion of the mentioned projects is sufficient.
On mid-November, the deputy co-presidency of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), Amina Osi, said the investment budget for the next year, 2022, is $80 million, 70% of which will be allocated for the autonomous and civil administrations, and 30% for the AANES.
“There will be lots of huge service projects, most notably bringing in the drinking water for Hasakah in order to avoid a humanitarian crisis,” Osi added.
The focus will be on some of the main roads linking the regions of northeast Syria that need to be expanded and paved, as well as secondary roads in cities and rural areas, according to Osi.
