Unidentified gunmen shot SDF member to death in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen shot to death, yesterday, a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

Unidentified gunmen, who were riding a motorbike, shot to death Ayman al-Ma’eidi, 24, who was a member of the SDF, near a military point in the town of Sweidan, 75 km east of Deir ez-Zor, an SDF source in the town said.  

The source added quoting eyewitnesses that the gunmen used Kalashnikovs. They were masked and wearing traditional garb (the jalabiya) and fled towards the desert after carrying out the operation.

Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing cases of kidnapping and assassination of members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal dignitaries and civilians for unknown reasons. The Islamic State organization (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for most of these cases.
