Syrian government-held areas record 139 new coronavirus cases

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded yesterday, five deaths and 139 new coronavirus infections in its areas of control.

The deaths were one each in Damascus, Suwayda, Aleppo, Daraa and Deir ez-Zor.

Meanwhile, the media office announced 96 new recoveries.

The new cases were 27 in Suwayda, 22 in Homs, 18 in Damascus, 16 in Rif Dimasheq, 14 in Daraa, 13 in Aleppo, 12 in Tartus, 11 in Latakia, and 6 in Hasakah.

The total toll of the confirmed infections in the government-held areas has come up to 46,703, including 2,682 deaths and 27,963 recoveries.

On Tuesday, the government-held areas recorded 143 new coronavirus infections and five deaths.
