$80 million USD is project budget for next year: Syria’s AANES

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The deputy co-presidency of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), Amina Ossi, said the investment budget for the next year, 2022, is $80 million, 70% of which will be allocated for the autonomous and civil administrations, and 30% for the AANES.

On the AANES official Facebook account, Ossi said, “There will be lots of huge service projects, most notably bringing in the drinking water for Hasakah in order to avoid a humanitarian crisis.”

“All institutions have received their budgets which they are now financially checked. We are waiting for the approval of the 2022 budget law next month,” Ossi added.

The focus will be on some of the main roads linking the regions of northeast Syria that need to be expanded and paved, as well as secondary roads in cities and rural areas, according to Ossi.

Regarding the environment, the works will be concentrated on caring for and planting public gardens, in addition to projects that support the economy, Ossi announced.

She concluded her speech by noting that 65% of the general budget for each administration will be allocated to the boards and committees of the economy, education, health and municipalities, as they are service sectors.

Ossi stated that the budget of investment projects for 2021 amounted to $40 million.

The Autonomous Administration allocated $100 million to purchase wheat, according to the AANES Facebook page.
