Asayish mobilizes after being attacked by National Defense in Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – After being targeted by a group affiliated with the Syrian government on Tuesday afternoon, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) intensified their security checkpoints in Qamishli city, northeast Syria.
“Members of the National Defense Forces (NDF) fired at Asayish members in Hasakah, injuring one in the hand,” North Press reported a security source from the Asayish.
The Asayish intensified the number of its security checkpoints in Qamishli and in the vicinity of the security square where the government forces are present.
The Asayish members were told not to pass through the government-controlled areas, eyewitnesses said.
At the end of April, the Tayy neighborhood in the city of Qamishli witnessed violent clashes between the NDF and the Asayish. The conflict ended with the control of the latter on the neighborhood after negotiations brokered by Russia.
