Russian airstrikes target opposition sites in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian warplanes targeted, On Monday, sites of Turkish-backed armed factions, east and south of Idlib, with vacuum missiles.
The Russian warplanes targeted the factions’ sites in the villages of Mjdlya and Deir Sunbul, east and south of Idlib, with several airstrikes and vacuum missiles, opposition military sources told North Press.
Meanwhile, the Russian raids coincided with artillery shelling by the Syrian government forces on posts of the factions in the village of Ma’arat al-Na’asan, in the eastern countryside of Idlib, amid intensive flights by Russian and Iranian drones over the area, according to the same sources.
The government forces bombed the factions’ posts within residential neighborhoods in the village of Kafr Nouran, in Aleppo western countryside, with Krasnopol shells, other military sources of the Syrian opposition told North Press.
The sources added that the bombing resulted in the killing of a woman and her child, and the injury of four others, all from one family, of varying severity who were transferred to nearby medical points for treatment.
Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations’ Room announced the targeting of military posts of the government forces in Mizanaz, in the western countryside of Aleppo, with heavy artillery, the source added.
The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020; however, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.
