HTS militants attack de-escalation zone: Russia’s Center for Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Militants of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) conducted nine attacks on the de-escalation zone, northwest Syria, Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria announced on Friday.

Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center Rear Admiral Vadim Kolet announced in a statement that nine attacks were recorded from the HTS-controlled positions in the de-escalation zone in Idlib during the past 24 hours, including five in Aleppo and four in Idlib.

On November 7, HTS militants conducted five attacks on the de-escalation zone in Idlib, according to the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria.

Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.
