US soldiers stay in Syria to boost for political solution: US Envoy

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The US soldiers will stay in northeast Syria to boost for a political solution in accordance with international resolutions to solve the Syrian crisis, US Deputy Special Envoy for Syria, David Brownstein, said yesterday.

In a virtual meeting with a delegate of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), Brownstein said the US intends to stay in northeast Syria to prevent the resurgence of the Islamic State (ISIS) and preserve stability in the region.

Brownstein stressed the USA’s commitment to the guarantee document signed with the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Gen. Mazloum Abdi and the necessity to implement all of its items.

“Unless it gets the approval of either Russia or the US, Turkey cannot launch another military operation in NE Syria,” Mazloum Abdi said in an interview with al-Monitor.
