DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, two people, one of whom was unidentified, were deadly shot by unidentified gunmen in a town west of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
“Unidentified gunmen, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on a car carrying two people on the highway. The Two men were immediately killed, while the gunmen ran away,” a local source from the town of Hawayij Bu Mas’a, west of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press.
“One of the dead, Fayez al-Joshani worked in the arms trade and he came from the city of al-Boulel, east of Deir ez-Zor, which is controlled by the government forces. The residents did not recognize the other person,” the sources added.
“The unidentified person came from the city of Qamishli and worked in the car trade,” eyewitnesses said.
Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing cases of kidnappings and assassinations of members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal dignitaries and civilians for unknown reasons. The Islamic State organization (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for most of these cases.
A civilian lost his life two days ago when unidentified gunmen shot him near the complex of makeshift oil refineries in the town of Thiban, east of Deir ez-Zor.
