Russian-Turkish joint patrol resumes in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police (MP), along with Turkish forces, conducted a joint patrol in the eastern countryside of Kobani, northern Syria.
This is the 77th joint patrol of the two forces conducted together.
The patrol, which included eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles, accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set off from the village of Gharib, 15 km east of Kobani.
The patrol went through several villages of Kobani and returned to the village of Gharib where it set off from.
The Turkish vehicles entered through the gate near the village of Gharib, while the Russian ones returned to the center in the Iza’a (Radio) west of Kobani.
On October 25, the Russian MP cancelled a joint patrol planned to be conducted with Turkey as a result of raising public anger in Kobani due to targeting civilians by Turkish drone in the city and Russia’s failure to adhere to its obligations in preserving security and protecting the region.
On October 18, 2021, the Russian MP conducted the 76th joint patrol along with the Turkish part in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
