QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Senior coordinator of Islamic State (ISIS) was arrested in Iraq in a security operation in Diyala Governorate, Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a statement on Friday.

The arrestee “is a dangerous terrorist, (…) and is a special coordinator with the so-called military official of ISIS in Hamrin Mountains, the Media Cell added. 

This operation came three days after carrying out Miqdadiyah Massacre in the Diyala Governorate during which 17 individuals were killed.

On October 26, the Iraqi Security Media Cell arrested seven individuals belonging to ISIS in Baghdad, al-Anbar, and  Saladin Governorate in the middle and west of the country.
