ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, Turkish intelligence forces arrested an elderly man from Sariya village, in Afrin city north Syria.
Shukri Muhammad Abdo, 65, was arrested from his home in the village and was charged of dealing with the Autonomous Administration in the past, an exclusive source informed North Press.
Abdo’s fate and whereabouts are yet to be known.
In mid-October, the Turkish intelligence forces and their allied factions detained seven civilians, including two women, in a campaign of arrests in Afrin and its outskirts.
The Turkish-backed Syrian armed factions keep up committing systematic violations against civilians in Afrin city and its surrounding. The groups kill, steal, arrest and change the area demographically.
The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.
The Afrin region has been witnessing cases of killing, kidnapping and arrest, in addition to frequent bombings, amid the inability of the factions controlling it to settle the security in the region.
