Targets hit Russian and government forces in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, unknown persons targeted a military vehicle of the Russian forces, and an IED exploded in a vehicle of the military security forces of the Syrian government in the eastern countryside of Daraa, south Syria.
An IED went off on the international highway between the towns of Sayda and Umm al-Mayathen while a military vehicle carrying Russian forces was passing, local sources told North Press.
Several Russian soldiers were wounded and their vehicle was largely damaged in the targeting, said the sources.
In a relevant context, an IED planted in the car of a military security member exploded in the town of Nassib in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
The IED exploded in the car of Tawfiq al-Radi, a member of the Military Security of the government, a source in Nassib town told North Press.
The engineering devices of the government forces were unable to dismantle the bomb, so they detonated it from a distance. No casualties were reported, while the car was completely destroyed, the source added.
Al-Radi previously was part of the opposition factions before the government forces took control of southern Syria and settled his status.
