Turkish forces renew targeting Syria’s Hasakah countryside
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions renewed their shelling of the countryside of Tel Tamr town, north of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
The Turkish forces renewed their targeting of the Assyrian village of Tel Shnan, east of the town, with a barrage of mortar and artillery shells, a source in Tel Tamr Military Council.
The bombing caused material damage to civilian property, according to the source.
The Turkish bombing coincided with the flight of two helicopters belonging to the Russian forces over the area.
The countryside of Tel Tamr includes about 33 Assyrian villages, five of which were almost fully emptied due to ISIS attacks and their location on the frontlines with the Turkish forces, according to the residents.
Most of the villages on the contact lines with the Turkish forces in the countryside of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, have become empty of residents due to the continuous bombardment.
