Two SDF members found dead in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, residents of the village of Wadi Shnan in al-Suwar district, 40 km north of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, found two bodies near the main road in the village.
After the residents reported to the Asayish that there was a smell of corpses near the main road, the Asayish went to the site to find two bodies buried in one hole, a source of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the village, said.
The bodies were of two members of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council forces, whose identity documents were found with them. They went missing two years ago, according to the families of the two deceased.
“The two young men went missing two years ago when they went to join their work after having days-off. Contact was lost with them after that, amid many attempts by their relatives to find out their whereabouts, but to no avail,” the sources told North Press, citing the families of the two killed men.
The two young men came from the town of al-Suwar in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, according to the source.
The countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing cases of kidnappings and killings for unknown reasons. The Islamic State organization (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for most of these cases.
On October 15, residents found two unidentified bodies buried in the Abu Hamam desert, east of Deir ez-Zor.
