Turkey ready use heavy weapons against Syrian government: Erdogan

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkey intends to use heavy weaponry in Idlib city against Syrian government forces, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said to the press on Thursday.

Turkey cannot leave the Syrian government offensive in Idlib to continue without taking actions and that Turkey will use heavy weapons in the face of the Syrian government forces, he added.

Erdogan emphasized they will not make any give and takes and they will take every necessary action.

Erdogan pointed out that the Turkish forces are taking military action in some areas of tension and will continue doing what is necessary despite stances the Syrian government will take.

Erdogan’s speech coincided the downing of a Russian warplane by Turkish forces in Turkman Bareh village in the countryside of Azaz in Aleppo northern countryside.

He stressed, Turkey is determined to take back $ 1.4 billion it had paid to the US Air Force for purchasing F-35 fighters and will never give up its rights.

“After Turkey was excluded from F-35 program, it will take back the costs it had paid. Talks between Ankara and Washington reached a low point,” Erdogan indicated.

He mentioned, he will have talks with his US counterpart in the G-20 Rome Summit to discuss the joint procedures must be taken in regard to the F-35 fighters.
