Government forces besiege town east of Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Syrian government forces tightened the siege on the town of al-Hirak in the eastern countryside of Daraa, south Syria, preventing residents from leaving or entering it.
The government forces demanded the residents of the town to hand over 250 pieces of light weapons, to which the residents refused, local sources said.
The government forces imposed a siege on the town of Hirak and prevented the residents from leaving or entering it, in order to push them to hand over more weapons, the sources added.
Over the two past days, the residents have handed over about 150 pieces of light weapons, DShK and RPG shells, according to the sources.
The government forces threaten to escalate if the residents refuse to hand over the wanted weapons.
