Turkish intelligence arrests seven civilians in Syria’s Afrin
ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – Within days ago, Turkish intelligence and its affiliated Syrian armed opposition factions arrested seven civliains, including two women, in Afrin region, northern Syria.
Suzan, 33, Walid Mustafa Ibrahim’s wife, and Mezgin, 28, Khoshnav Khalil Alo’s wife, were among the arrested people. The two women are from Berimja village in Mabata/M’abatli district, Afrin countryside, exclusive sources told North Press.
On the other hand, the military police and al-Montaser Billah faction arrested five people from Ma’melo village in Mabata disrtict without mentioning the reason behind the arrest.
The arrested people were identified as Rashid Zibar, 55, Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, 38, and Mostafa Khalil Zibar, 40.
Their fate and whereabouts remain unknown.
Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions keep up committing systematic violations against civilians in the northern city of Afrin and its surrounding. The groups kill, steal, arrest and change the area demographically.
The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.
The Afrin region has been witnessing cases of killing, kidnapping and arrest, in addition to frequent bombings, amid the inability of the factions controlling it to settle the security in the region.
