Russian security service arrests 14 people funding terrorism in Syria

Hasakah, Syria (North Press) – Following conducting separate raids in the country, the Russian Federal Security Service arrested, on Thursday, 14 people on charges of financing terrorists in Syria.

The arrests took place in the regions of Moscow, the Republic of Dagestan, Khabarovsk, Kurgan, Penza, Ulyanovsk and Samara, according to Sputnik.

The investigations carried out by the security men proved that the suspects provided funds on an ideological basis.

The means of communication and tools used to send money and illegal activities, in addition to extremist religious publications, were all confiscated.

Different kinds weapons and ammunitions were found in the places of the arrests.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against those arrested under the heading “Assistance in terrorist activities.”
