SDF sets three future goals
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On its sixth anniversary, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Sunday that they will work in the next stage to achieve three goals.
On October 11, 2015, Kurdish, Arab, Syriac and Turkmen factions united under the banner of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
On his official Facebook account, the director of the SDF Media Center, Farhad Shami, said that their forces will work to achieve three goals in the coming period.
The SDF official defined these goals as “liberating the occupied areas, eliminating ISIS sleeper cells, achieving community development, and maintaining security and stability in the liberated areas,” said Shami, defining the SDF future goals.
The occupied areas, meant by the SDF, are the cities of Afrin, Sere Kaniye, and Tel Abyad, which they lost following Turkish military operations with the help of the affiliated opposition factions.
In August, the SDF linked the final defeat of ISIS to the extent of supporting the stabilization projects and infrastructure rehabilitation in the region through supporting the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
The SDF Commander-in-Chief, General Mazloum Abdi, said at the annual conference of his forces, “In order to achieve the final defeat against ISIS, it is necessary to support the projects of the Autonomous Administration.”
The final statement also called for “military support and fortifying the AANES with tools that enable it to enhance security and stability and provide a better future for the people of the region.”
