QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Jordanian Minister of Interior Mazen al-Faraya said that the Syrian-Jordanian Jaber [Nasib] border crossing will open on Wednesday morning, September 29.
“This decision comes for the purpose of revitalizing trade and tourism between the two countries, taking into consideration the required security and health measures,” the minister said in a press statement.
The ministry added that this “came under the instructions of the Prime Minister during his visit to the Jaber border crossing on July 8.”
The reopening of the Jaber border crossing will take place “according to technical and logistical procedures for reopening this center to the movement of freight and travelers,” al-Faraya pointed out.
On Monday, a ministerial delegation of the Syrian government visited Jordan in order to hold joint meetings to discuss several issues including power, water, and transportation.
The Syrian ministerial delegation will include the ministers of power, water, agriculture, and transportation, the Kingdom of Jordan channel said.
For two days, they will hold meetings discussing transportation issues in the ministry of industry and trade.
On August 4, crossing movement between Syria and Jordan returned to normal after cessation due to the security events in Daraa city, south Syria, informed sources told North Press.
