SDF arrests ISIS leaders in Syria’s Raqqa

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The counter-terrorism units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the support of the US-led Global Coalition, arrested three leaders of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Raqqa, north Syria.

The official website of the SDF said that the three ISIS leaders were arrested in three security operations in the southern suburbs of the city of Raqqa, and the western and eastern countryside of the city.

“The three wanted men were active in harboring and transporting of ISIS members. They also planned and carried out assassinations ins the city and its countryside,” the SDF website added.

The three terrorists had previously fought in the ranks of ISIS in various areas in northeast Syria, according to the website.

Earlier today, three ISIS members were killed in the town of al-Shuhail in the Deir ez-Zor countryside while clashing with a joint patrol of the SDF and the Global Coalition forces.

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing widespread assassinations of members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, tribal notables and residents in the area.
