Turkish bombing damages residents’ homes and wheat silos in Syria’s Hasakah
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – After being shelled this morning with artillery, Turkish forces re-bombed the countryside of Tel Tamr town, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, in the evening, causing damage to the residents’ homes and wheat silos as well.
The Turkish forces bombed the villages of Tel Jum’a, Tel Kefchi and Umm al-Keif in the countryside of Tel Tamr this evening, with mortar and artillery shells, a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press.
The bombing resulted in damage to wheat silos in Umm al-Keif village, while the villages of Tel Jum`a and Tel Kefchi, inhabited by Assyrian families, witnessed material damage to civilian homes, according to the source.
This morning, the village of al-Dardara, north of Tel Tamr, witnessed artillery shelling in tandem with the American forces conducting a patrol within the town and on the M4 Highway.
Yesterday evening, the Turkish army bombed the villages of al-Dardara and al-Tawila, which resulted in families fleeing their homes.
For about two months, Tel Tamr town and its countryside have been subjected to shelling, which has resulted in injuries, material losses and the displacement of residents to safe areas.
Tel Tamr sits on the front lines between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – affiliated militias and government forces, and Turkish forces and their affiliated armed Syrian factions.
