HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) said that their Special Forces (HAT), with the US-led Global Coalition support, arrested 27 people on charges of belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS) in the countryside of Hasakah.
“The Special Forces (HAT) stormed the villages of Abid and Falaha in the countryside of Hasakah, on Friday,” Asayish Media Office said on their official Facebook account.
“Military helicopters of the US-led Global Coalition flew over the area from Friday night until noon on Saturday,” eyewitnesses from Hasakah said.
“The operation came after obtaining evidences and documents that confirm the arrestees’ involvement in facilitating radical ISIS sleeper cells’ move and planning for assassinations,” the Media Office indicated.
The Asayish confiscated weapons and equipment owned by the arrestees.
On August 21, the Asayish, supported by the Global Coalition managed to arrest two ISIS leaders in the western countryside of Hasakah.
