Woman and three children wounded in Russian bombing in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a woman and three children were wounded in a bombing by Russian warplanes in the countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria.

“The Russian warplanes targeted the vicinity of the villages of al-Hamama and al-Zarzour in Jisr al-Shughur area in the western countryside of Idlib, with high-explosive vacuum missiles,” opposition military sources told North Press.

“As a result, a woman and three children were wounded after targeting a poultry between the villages of al-Zarzour and Mazra, west of Idlib,” the sources added.

The wounded were transferred to medical points for treatment, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, the sources pointed out that the Syrian government forces, stationed in the city of Saraqib, bombed the positions of the opposition factions in the town of Neirab in the eastern Idlib countryside, with artillery shells.

While the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes several factions, targeted government forces in Saraqib.

Since June, areas in Syria’s northwest have been witnessing military escalation and intensive mutual shelling between Turkish-backed armed Syrian factions and government forces with Russian support.

The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020; however, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.
