Mutual bombardment between government forces and opposition in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnessed mutual shelling between government forces and the Turkish-backed armed Syrian opposition factions in the Idlib and Hama countryside.
Military sources in the opposition told North Press that government forces stationed in the city of Kafr Nabl bombed opposition factions’ positions in the towns of Maarbalit and Majdalaiya, south and east of Idlib, with artillery shells.
Similar government bombardments targeted the fortifications of opposition factions in the towns of Qalidin and al-Enkawi, located in the Ghab Plain area in the western Hama countryside, with heavy artillery, according to the source.
Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes several factions, bombed sites of the government forces in the southern countryside of Idlib, military sources added.
According to the source, Fateh al-Mubin targeted the towns of Hazarin and al-Dar al-Kabira, located in Zawiya Mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib, with heavy artillery and Grad missiles. It also targeted the positions of the government forces stationed in the town of Kafr Battikh, east of Idlib, with mortar shells.
